Skilled migrant rules unfair to 49,000 in UK, say MPs

There is a report in todays Guardian newspaper (August 9 2007) by Alan Travis about the deportation threat to thousands of highly skilled migrants who have settled in Britain. Parliament's joint committee on human rights says the changes made last year to the highly skilled migrants programme are incompatible with article 8 - the right to respect for home and family life.
